The Sierra County Public Health Department conducts Pandemic Flu Mass Vaccination Exercises in Downieville and Loyalton every Fall. These events are commonly referred to as Flu Shot Drive-Thru Clinics.
These exercises meet requirements of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Work Plans as well as provide a convenient and cost-effective way for community members to receive annual influenza vaccinations. Influenza (Flu) vaccines are available in both injection and intranasal forms. Pneumococcal Polysaccharide (Pneumonia) vaccinations are also available for those meeting the recommended age and health parameters. A fee of $2.00 each or $5.00 per family covers all needed vaccinations.
