SB 793 - Signed into Law!

August 28, 2020

California is now the second state in the nation to prohibit the sale of flavored tobacco products, including menthol cigarettes. Starting January 1, 2021, retailers will be prohibited from selling these flavored products: 

  • Flavored e-cigarettes or vapes, e-juice, pods, and cartridges
  • Menthol cigarettes
  • Flavored little cigars and cigarillos
  • Smokeless tobacco
  • Flavored tobacco product enhancers

The law does not apply to: the sale of flavored shisha/hookah, premium cigars over $12, and loose leaf pipe tobacco.
