The Vector Control Program promotes public health through surveillance and public education activities with goals to avoid or prevent communicable diseases such as Rabies, Hantavirus, West Nile Virus, Lyme Disease from animals or vectors in our environment.
In Cooperation with federal, state, and local agencies, the Environmental Health staff keeps the public informed of current and emerging threats to the communities of Sierra County.
